Vectec Limited designs, installs and maintains refuelling facilities for commercial and public sector organisations. Having used PowTechnology’s tank level monitoring for years, they needed an IIoT solution for customers who store diesel at unmanned sites, to protect them from theft.
Craggs Energy supplies over 50 million litres per annum of fuels and lubricants to UK homes, farms and businesses via three depots and a national partner network. Taking manual readings was awkward and hazardous on four 230,000 litre tanks at their Padiham Depot.
FUELIink Systems provide commercial fuelling equipment including fuel tanks, pumps, gauges and AdBlue kit. Their customer is a Scotch Whisky distillery, partly heated by kerosene. Royal Mail is a British multinational postal and courier service, with over 250 depots across the UK. Fuel for delivery vehicles was purchased centrally, but daily manual stock levels were required to place orders. There was no way of verifying the time/volume of deliveries to ensure correct billing or if fuel was being stolen, a problem at unmanned rural locations. Losses and fuel unaccounted for was costing £5M pa!
