With our own proven hardware and software, as well as technology from a range of trusted partners, you can be confident that our remote monitoring solutions will be affordable and fit for purpose with controlled whole of life project costs.

We have delivered over a hundred thousand ‘connected sensor solutions’ helping customers remotely monitor temperature, pressure, flow, level, vibration, humidity, CO2, proximity, distance, colour, movement and many more parameters.

So… whether you want a ‘plug-and-play’ kit to monitor river level, a holistic solution to manage oxygen deliveries to hospitals or a partner to develop a bespoke monitoring solution, you can trust our expertise.

PowTechnology enables the Internet of Things, with a deep understanding of both sensors and the wide range of communication technologies available to get sensor data to you, wherever and whenever you need it, encompassing well-established GSM/GPRS and the rapidly emerging LPWAN/NBIoT technologies.

What can we do for you?

Our Story

1990

Powelectrics was founded as a distributor of sensors into factory automation and process control, named after its founder, Henry Powell.

2000

Oakes & Co installed their first internet-connected telemetry solution on a weather station on Mount Snowden.

2001

Oakes & Co merged with Powelectrics, bringing us Dave Oakes as Technical and Sales Director. Dave understood the huge potential for remote monitoring of sensors to optimise processes.

2005

With ‘connected sensors’ applications evolving rapidly, the synergy between Powelectrics’ sensor and telemetry expertise saw the first sales of our own Metron GSM/GPRS telemetry hardware.

2011

The international success of Metron hardware inspired the development and release of our Metronview data collection platform.

2021

With 100,000 remote monitoring devices deployed globally, Powelectrics benefitted from major investment by Quinn Venture Investments, with Peter Quinn and John Higham joining our Board.

2022

Powelectrics became PowTechnology to better represent our capabilities as an organisation, whilst maintaining the ‘POW’ element of our name, as a link to over 30 years of company heritage.
