The Task

GB Lubricants have manufactured oil and lubricants since 1877, supplying automotive, industrial, construction, mining and agricultural businesses throughout the UK and with a presence in over 25 countries. They needed a remote tank level monitoring solution, which worked reliably for all viscosities and temperatures, to manage inventory at their depot and on customer sites.

The Solution

PowTechnology's Metron IIoT kit was selected in 2014, for its ability to function with all products and display data in versatile, web-based portals. Regular tank level data and low level alerts are displayed via PowTechnology’s MetronView and MetronTMS portals to GB Lubricants and their customers. Technology may be supplied FOC against minimum order levels and exclusive supply agreements.

The Result

PowTechnology’s kit has digitally transformed operations, enhancing service to customers, by taking responsibility for inventory, thereby eliminating costly emergency deliveries or unplanned stoppages due to run-outs. Data can identify maintenance issues and has strengthened revenue streams, such as tank rental, based on minimum order quantities. Efficient logistics cut delivery costs and maximise labour resources.
