Selwood Limited are world leaders in pumping solutions, including waste removal. Their customer, the Canal & River Trust looks after 2,000 miles of waterways, including hundreds of septic tanks for boat-users’ waste. These needed to be emptied at minimal cost, whilst avoiding emergency collections & hazardous overspills.
PowTechnology’s IIoT kit remotely monitors waste levels on the tanks. Regular data & high level alarms are sent to both Selwood and the Trust. Low level alerts verify that collections have occurred and an alert identifies if readings have been missed, indicating a possible fault.
Logistics can be planned based on actual levels & timely alerts. Costly emergency collections are no longer necessary, cutting expense and offering enhanced service to Trust. Historical level data is also available for trend analysis.
