Sigfox For Contact Closure Inputs
A low-power wide-area network (LPWAN) is a type of wireless telecommunication network designed to allow long range communications at a low bit rate among connected objects, such as sensors operated on a battery. As the name suggests, they have low power draw and provide coverage to wide areas.
The most widely deployed proprietary LPWAN technology is Sigfox. There are now networks in around 60 countries. The UK benefits from 2000 base stations, covering 95% of the nation’s population.
PowTechnology are Sigfox partners and offer a range of Sigfox devices that are battery powered, weatherproof and incredibly easy to deploy.
This self contained Sigfox device will transmit the status of 2 volt free contact (dry contact) inputs periodically as well as when they change state. Being battery powered, with a life up to 10 years, and coming in a rugged IP65 enclosure these units are great for reporting the status of alarms, pumps and much more. The long range Sigfox provides makes them ideal for checking manholes.
The device is approved for use on the Sigfox networks. Data can be reported to our hosted data collection services allowing you easily view data securely via web portals, receive alarms and even integrate with 3rd party software solutions using our API.
