PowTechnology Welcome David Kemp As The Newest Member of Our Development Team!

News

PowTechnology are delighted to welcome David Kemp as the newest member of our Development Team! David has worked on a freelance basis for PowTechnology for several years and is now a permanent member of our talented internal Development Team.

He brings 25 years’ experience in an amazing array of languages and technologies, including C#, Windows forms, WPF, ASP.NET, Python, Django, Rails, nodeJS, SOAP, REST, SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and MySQL.

His career incorporates a vast range of projects, from WordPress development to system integration for media, retail and leisure. His experience also comprises developing an android app for a "smart" heart rate monitor and developing an e-learning environment with the University of Manchester - a collaborative virtual environment that is customised for teaching and research environments and deployed globally.

Quite the resumé! Within PowTechnology his focus is currently to develop a LoRa based SMART metering device, although previous work has been centred on our flexible MetronView IIoT platform.

David told us: “I’ve known PowTechnology for years, working closely with the internal Development Team and seeing the business flourish. I’m delighted to be a part of that Team now, bringing me closer to a range of exciting projects, generated by new IIoT applications and by the company entering new sectors.”

Dave Oakes, PowTechnology CEO added:

“David is a great addition to our talented Development Team! He brings a fantastic range of skills and experience and has always delivered projects to a high standard.

He has an excellent ability to visualise a project from the early scoping stages, structure a development path to overcome projected obstacles and promote opportunities to add functionality for our customers.

Perfect timing, as sustainability continues to be a growing priority and ever more industry sectors embrace digitisation as a solution.”

David lives in Slaithwaite, West Yorkshire, with his wife, Amy. It’s a great base for his main pastime, cycling.

He also recently cycled from the west coast of Scotland to the east coast of England in the Scott Frontier 300 event! Described as ‘not a race but an epic’, if 200 miles wasn’t enough, there was 4200 metres/ 13800 elevation gain, gravelly off-road sections and a steep ‘hike a bike’ … apparently well worth it for the view!

Welcome David! We all wish you every success!
